Enjoy a poem from the book, Foreign Frost

And so the frost has come

a creep upon the wind

and turn of subtle leaves

the stir in the faint breeze

the gust of cold

the stir of bramble bush

and naked tree

the scuttled squirrels and honk of geese

the paddled ducks remove their frozen feet

from hardened water and standstill lake

the slush has come

the temperature dropped

the snow to fall and ice among

the slumbered earth, the frigid cold

whose snores sing along the whistled song.
